Happy Birthday, Apollo!

For Apollo's birthday, we went to Apollo's great-great-aunt Ida's house and had Halloween cupcakes and ice cream. We also took around scary cupcakes around to Carleton's work and others in our area. Mom made a hand puppet of Little Red Riding Hood and Dad gave him a remote control tractor. On his birthday, Dad taped a bunch of boxes together so Apollo could climb around.

Apollo was spoiled by friends and family for his birthday. He got a puzzle and makes the sounds of the pig, cow, and sheep.

Carleton went kayaking with some coworkers. Apollo had a very high fever for 5 days so he'll be going probably next Saturday.

We carved pumpkins. One was a ghost and the other was Apollo. Carleton carved a bunch of teeth with spaces on it. Apollo is getting his 10th tooth (second molar!).

Apollo loves his Daddy!!! He gets so excited to see him when he comes home from work and clings to him when he sees him getting into his work clothes. Carleton is indoctrinating him early to be a BYU fan. Don't mention this game to Carleton because it was BYU's first loss this season, to TCU.

Apollo is helping Daddy clean off the back porch.

Apollo likes listening to music and has started making his moves.

Welcome Little One

We've had a fun few weeks discovering more of CA. Carleton has been training (running) hard for his 10k coming up in January and is excited to be a daddy again. Robyn has been working on Christmas projects and catching up with old friends. Apollo is the happiest and most fun baby-we completely adore him. He looooves climbing (on the stove, playground, toys-whatever he finds) and smiling. He says a lot of cute words and phrases that surprise us all the time. He is an outdoors and water baby.

Here is Apollo cuddling with his little sister, Annie Elizabeth. We are way pumped we're having a girl and couldn't be more excited. Apollo loves to give hugs and will be a great brother (except he also likes poke eyes, pick noses, take toys away, and wrestle smaller kids too). The name Annie comes from great-grandma Annie Skenandore who was a little girl at the Battle of Wounded Knee. She was Sioux Indian and had great stories to tell. She was very kind and thoughtful of others and was a strong woman. Carleton also has a great-grandma too. Elizabeth comes from Robyn's best friend from high school. Liz will be a great example to Annie of how to love and live life. We're glad Annie will have a grandma Heidi that will share her middle name too.

We went climbing with Carleton's coworker, Carol, at Ortega Falls. Carol was a pro even though it was just her first time and Apollo found some rocks more his size and climbed too!

Of course Carleton is training his son early to be a football fan too.

My friend Ali from high school came over for the afternoon to play. Our kids had a fun time together. It was great to catch up.

Robyn had so much fun at her high school proms, she went back for more last weekend. Her friend from Quantum Learning had a prom theme for her birthday. Nothing like a pregnant prom queen.

We took a beautiful hike last weekend. It's amazing how we'll be in the middle of a city and a little further will be some amazing open areas. We had a cool view at the top. Mom Skenandore would have loved the wild flowers.
