Family Fun

We were in the car the other day when this happened:

Apollo: Mom

Mom: What

Apollo: Mom

Mom: What (this happens all the time and continues for awhile)

Apollo: Mom

Mom: Apollo, when somebody says your name, that means they want to tell you something.

Apollo: Mom

Mom: What

Apollo: Mom

Mom: What

Apollo: Something

It was nice not to have set plans this weekend. Instead, we made a list of a bunch of things we want to do and checked them off as we went. This weekend we ran, visited the library (they have a short fountain outside that Apollo would fill up a watering toy or spray bottle and get himself and everything wet), got some workout clothes at REI, and went to a fun park. We still have rollerblading, taking a train, and making some home videos.

Heavy load. I swear Annie has gained some chubs since we started her on rice cereal. Each thigh has 5 rolls. She'll probably love this blog entry in a few years. We love our healthy kids.

We bought a little car kit for Apollo.

Apollo couldn't take his eyes off Jill all night and wanted to sit by her.

Apollo's first official bubble bath.

Every Friday I get together with friends to work on crafts while the kids play together at our church's nursery.

I've been crocheting a lot lately and Apollo wanted to play with my stuff so I found some yarn and another crochet hook. He of course has to sit right by me.

Here's the shapes we made last week (put them on the other blog). I am the song leader for nursery. Last week the kids picked a shape and we sang the song that went with them.

Working out with Kids

Working out with kids definitely takes a lot of creativity. When Apollo was little, I would use him as my weight. It was great because my weight increased gradually. We would do squats, arm lifts etc. Now I run 5 days a week with my loyal running partners. We do all our speed workouts and long runs together.

Three days a week I get together with friends from my church. I run beforehand and meet them at the park. We work out with bands while the kids play.

On the days I don't go to the park, we (I run while the little guys enjoy the ride) run together and then I do P90X videos. Here's Apollo doing it with me. It's funny to see him trying to do the moves.

This is what some of our workouts look like. Apollo crawling on me and becomes extra weight.

This week we went with some pals to the Mud Park. This is Apollo having a blast going down the slide.

This is me having a blast with Annie in the baby carrier trying to help a crying Apollo. A lady took these pics for me because she said it looked like I wanted some pics but couldn't do 3 things at once. Usually he loves slides. Not this one. Sarah was at the top and almost had to go with him.

They had a "building area" that the kids could get wood, hammers, and nails. They had tree houses where the kids could build on to what was there.

With all the cool things-rafts, ropes etc. Apollo's favorite was snack time, the sand box, and chasing after bubbles a girl was making.

Monday night dance party.

Tuesday play date.

Lindsay made this cute skirt for Annie. She pooped on it right after these pics. Good thing the poop matches the skirt-no noticeable stain.

Both kids are sick with colds and fevers. We might not be going out as much this week.

Fun in the Sun

We've had a week of rock climbing, going to Mormon night at the Angel's game, celebrating others' birthdays, saying goodbye, swimming, running, and playing.

Apollo and Annie are becoming good friends. Apollo always wants to hold her, feed her, and make her smile.

Annie started on solid food. I have to admit, I wasn't ready for it. She's still just a baby. Apollo tried some of her food and gagged. But when he fed Annie, he would tell her "Mmmm, Yummy." He loves to feed her (most of the cereal lands anywhere but her mouth).

We had fun climbing with Gerry and Brian yesterday. We went to Point Dume and climbed a beautiful cliff right on the beach. It feels good to climb again after being pregnant for two years straight. If felt like that anyway.
I love this pic. It looks like Apollo is concentrating.

Apollo's going to miss his buddy, Abby. Good luck Mike and Laura!

I love to sing to and rock my babies.

We went to the store last night and everyone got to pick out anything we wanted from the store. Dad-toaster strudel, Mom-horchata, and Apollo-strawberries.

Dream Vacation

We had our yearly get together with Carleton's family. It really was a dream vacation!! Carleton and I took the kids for runs (in their stroller) in the mornings and explored the beautiful area. The cabin/palace was beautiful and huge-right on the lake. We had our own dock to take the boat out wakeboarding or go swimming. There were fireworks over the water on the weekend. They had a little gym where I worked out and chatted with my sisters-in-law. Annie and Apollo had a little "cave" room so we could play while they were sleeping too. It was awesome because we could work on crafts one minute and the next be outside doing something fun. The grandparents took the kids for a night so we could have a group date night. They are very brave people to take on so many little kids! So fun. So beautiful.

The kids had fun on the boat after convincing Annie that she liked her jacket. One morning Apollo woke up and the first thing he said was "boat". He had his first try getting up on the skiboard-we'll have to try again later.

We found some fun natural pools and slides.

Yosemite.

We did a lot of fun crafts-magnets, hair clips, and beads. We had some fun crafts for the kids-fruit loop necklaces, paper plate faces using stuff we found outside, and leaf impressions. Check out my other blog to look at the crafts.

We had vouchers for the restaurant where we got delish breakfasts for almost free.

We're already looking forward to next year.
