4 months old!

We all spent a fun day at the beach on Sat. Apollo loves the water, Annie loves the hammock, Carleton loves learning to surf, and I love hanging out with friends and family. We had a cool spot to barbecue and be close to the waves.

Last Tuesday I met up with friends I worked with doing summer camps. What a fun group! I laughed so hard. Apollo was with friends so it was just Annie and me. We went hiking, to the beach, and out to dinner. We got back about 1 in the morning. I am lucky to have such good friends.

We did some finger painting with Apollo's little playgroup buddies.

Annie is 4 months old. Here is what we know so far:-She loves loves loves to smile and does so with her whole body
-She is not real sometimes-she's just so good
-She's almost always happy, but when she's ever fussy, we'll put her in her chair outside or lay her down with toys and she's good again
-She loves to eat. She was in the 44% for height and 87% for weight at her 2 mo. checkup. We'll see this week what's up at the doc.
-She adores Apollo and Apollo adores her. He likes to tickle, swing, and kiss her.
-She takes 4 naps a day and sleeps 11-12 hours at night (tomorrow she starts her new schedule only taking 3 naps a day-what a life!)
-She brings a very sweet spirit into out house
-She loves to be sung to and rocked
-She rolled over on her 4 mo. birthday
-She is a cute little "talker" making cute coos
-She plays with her little toys above her chair
-She's ticklish but doesn't really laugh too much yet (She laughed for the first time last week) so she kind of holds her breath

Here is a mobile I made for Annie. I'm going to post it on my other blog so you can check it out if you want to make one.

We climbed Ortega Falls yesterday - mostly dry, and the weather held nicely - Robyn really enjoyed getting back on the rock.

Apollo was having a blast playing in the remnants of the falls.

Here's Apollo on his first true climb - we bought him a harness so he could try it out.

Annie found a few fingers to suck on, and she loves it.

Apollo found a way to beat the system - his toy potty "sings" when it gets wet, supposedly to reward a successful potty trip. However, Apollo found a way to complete the circuit by touching both contacts. He had so much fun dancing around while the potty sang. I can't seem to get the video to post, but I'll keep trying...

Welcome Copas!

We just moved in and took Apollo to the nursery at our church for the first time. I was holding a sleeping Annie, when a lady came in to tell me Apollo had a blowout. Luckily someone asked to hold Annie. Apollo was wearing an all white outfit (a cute one we got in Mexico) and it had poop on the shorts. I didn't want to go to the other end of the church to the mother's lounge to change him so I laid him down on the sink counter while searching for my wipes. I had left them home because I had changed Annie just before leaving. I moved him to the bathroom floor (until I heard someone coming and didn't want them to think I was gross, so I stood him up. I used the toilet paper best I could (but it was all stuck to his butt). We went back out to the sink where I wet paper towels to wipe him off more. I don't think you're supposed to leave dirty diapers in the church trash but I didn't have a plastic bag. So, I covered it with paper towels and put it in anyway. One of the nursery leaders came in. I was thinking, "should I go home...should I take him back with me...leave him in a diaper???" I told her I didn't bring other pants (usually it's Annie I have to worry about, not Apollo). She came in and said she didn't want him to miss snack time, picked him up (with just a diaper bottom), and took him back. What a sweet lady. When I went to get him, out came all the little cuties, and Apollo with his diaper. Welcome to the ward, Copas:)

Here are some pics from the week:

I'm training 'em young.

He doesn't work for free.

The new library books just came in.

We had our friends, Katie and Aileen, over.

Project Night. Lindsay has great ideas. Here's the little hair clip I made. I'll post a tutorial of how to make it on my grow me. grow you. blog. Here's a pic of her little cutie.

Too Many Good Things

.

Things are crazy around here. It's hard to do it all. We just moved in to our new place. Thank you to everyone who helped. Heidi and Cordell were supposed to come down for a fun visit but ended up helping us move the whole time-thank you! You are life savors.

Change is always hard. I felt overwhelmed this week trying to be a good mom, keep a clean house, work on projects, throw a baby shower, be a good wife, move, etc. I wish I could lay on the floor for hours and talk to Annie and have her blow bubbles and "talk" to me. Study her little features, sing to her, kiss her chubby cheeks, and put lotion on her little rolls (and under her neck because she barfs all the time). The other day I was crying and praying to get through the day and be a patient and good mom. After the prayer, the three of us got lost (I was going for a 30 min. run with the kids in the stroller) and we were gone for 2 hours. Maybe that was the answer to the prayer-to get out and enjoy the beautiful day. I told the kids some stories in their stroller. Carleton and I had a good talk and he said there are too many good things. I feel like I stretch myself thin sometimes. Carleton said he doesn't care if dinner is ready and the house is clean (even though he likes it) but the most important thing is that I spend time raising the kids because that will have the greatest impact. My favorite days are the ones I play and am really with the kids instead of trying to keep them busy while I clean or try to get things done. Time is passing too fast. I see Annie growing before my eyes. Apollo has a little potty in the bathroom and a big boy bed. Crazy. It will be nice when we get the house completely organized and get back into a routine again.

Well, it's been a couple of weeks since I blogged so here's a bunch of pics:

Apollo's doing DDR. If you need any hot tips on how to do it, call Carol.

Like brother. Like sister.

We went up in the Irvine Great Park balloon with Cordell and Heidi.

Here's Apollo in his big boy bed for the first time. Three hours later after being put back in a million times, he went to sleep...and got up early. Now, he gets one chance and back into his playpen he goes (he looks like a giant in it). He's near the hundredth percentile for weight and height.

We took Apollo to ride a train at the Irvine Spectrum. Two of the workers asked if Cordell or I was going with him and we said no. I thought the train would go in circles. But no, it took off and I got a little worried. Apollo likes to climb and I hoped he wouldn't fall out. I went after him with Annie on the front pack and found him having a great ol' time - he was not happy to get out when the ride was over.

Annie's taking over Apollo's toys.

I had both kids on my lap and took some pics of them. Apollo kept swinging over and kissing Annie. She was smiling so big.

Here's one hot mama. I had so much fun being at Lacey's shower. I'm excited for her little girl to come.

Here's Annie getting her back rubbed. She and Apollo loved their feet rubbed too.
