I Love to see the Temple

Apollo, Annie, and I went to the Newport beach temple this week. We sang primary songs on the car ride over and I told them stories while we walked around. When I see the temple, I think of life after death, peace in this life, and families.

Boys Only. The boys went camping this week. When I talked to Apollo on the phone, I could tell he was hyper happy-so excited to be camping and have Dad all to himself. They roasted dogs and marshmallows, had a tent, went for a little hike, read stories, played at a playground. They finished off the next day with Carleton and Apollo's fav.-In and Out Burger.

Apollo's pretty excited about his new bike.

Happy Birthday Apollo!!

My little man is 2! He had a fun birthday party with all his little friends. They decorated cupcakes and haunted houses, read Halloween stories, cut a pumpkin and spider cake, and got their faces painted. Thanks for all your help Carol, Callie, Katie, and Grandma Copa. It's been so hard for Apollo being surrounded by candy. He would say, "how 'bout this one, Robyn" and have a bag of M&Ms in his hand. He got tired of hearing, "it's for your birthday".

He is having a lot of fun playing with his toys.

Here's Apollo last October "helping" me carve a pumpkin.

Here he is this year painting his own pumpkin. I love this little man. I really enjoy his company-his humor, energy, brains, hugs, kisses, funny phrases-I feel very blessed to be his mom.

Annie loves Katie and kept looking up at her. Here are our pals that watched Apollo grow from just a little nugget.

Here is my crocheting group. We have so much fun. A lot of them work with Carleton. It's so fun to chat and by the end of the night I feel like I accomplish something too. They are so creative and I leave full of ideas.

About 30 minutes ago, Apollo said he wanted to go potty. We took off his diaper and he went pee in the potty!! He was just beaming. He could tell how proud I was of him. We were planning on potty training him earlier but have been so busy the past few months and I really wanted to dedicate 3 days and nights to potty training him-well, I guess the time is now. He is wearing his big boy underwear and is taking his first nap without a diaper. I need to finish reading my potty training book. We'll see how it goes???

Way to go Carleton!!

Carleton fulfilled one of his lifetime goals yesterday-he did a back flip on the wake board. I think I've seen him come close a million times so all of us were so excited to see him land it, hold on to the rope, and keep going. It was a full day of hanging out with Carleton's parents on the lake-a perfect day.

Apollo got to ride a pony, Snowflake, before we went to the lake.

Apollo rode the knee board for the first time and kept saying "This is Fun!"

Grandma and Grandpa showed us how it's done.

Here's some pics we took before church today. Apollo saw Carleton's tie last week and had to have one too. He asks all the time if he can go to church. He loves nursery-even when we're traveling and in a new place. We have to ask him for a bye-bye kiss as he runs towards the toys. Where most kids cry when the parent leave, he cries when he has to leave the nursery.

This is the funny face Annie makes between spoonfuls of food. She does this little breathing thing too.

Apollo has said the funniest things this week:

When we were taking a nap together, he woke up and said It's time to wake up, Robyn.

I was trying on different outfits while Apollo was jumping on the bed. When I finally got dressed he said, I like it outfit, Robyn.

Apollo picked up his octagon shape and was looking for the hole it fit into and said, Where octagon go? We hadn't even been playing the game that day.

Apollo was cruising down a slope on his scooter and Carleton was worried he would get hurt, but fearless Apollo told Carleton "Watch Out"!

Week of Firsts

Apollo did his first somersault.

Annie sits up (and falls over not too long afterwards). She makes us laugh. She is a good mimicker of sounds. We had a yelling fest last night just to hear Annie do it too. This dress was mine when I was little.

Apollo rides his scooter. He's had it and we have just pushed him on it. He saw all his buddies riding their scooters at the park so he came home and started riding it.

Apollo had fun on our neighbor boy's 4-wheeler.

We are enjoying conference this weekend (where the leaders of our church speak) on our computer (we don't get the station on our tv). I had an "aha" moment. Apollo can't sit down and listen to it himself but I realized that if all he gets out of conference is that it's important to mom and dad, then he's learned a lot.

This is what Apollo did during conference-got a little foot bath (he loves anything with buttons, bubbles, and any type of machine) and got his feet rubbed.

Here is the witch's broom Apollo and I worked on this week. You can check it out on my other blog.

Look at the ghosts haunting Mom and Dad's house! I'll post how she did it this week.
